Activities and Family Activities in Antibes

Located between Cannes and Nice, Antibes might not be familiar to most. The resort area offers great beaches and sights for its visitors. It is well known locally for its coasts and beautiful beaches. The hilly inlands offer a series of interesting sights for its visitors too. Very well-liked by the locals as a summer vacation destination, Antibes is definitely a good choice for a summer holiday and a relaxing trip for family.

There are lots of lovely walks in and around Antibes. The Old Town of Antibes is a warren of narrow cobbled streets that slope gently up from the port behind the protective city walls. Follow the footpath that you can see from Plage de la Gravette that runs along the top of the city walls, along Promenade Admiral de Grasse, and skirts the edge of the old town.

Due to the calm seas of the French Riviera Coast, the local bays provide a perfect location for water sports. On a day with a breeze you may witness or join in with kite surfing, wind surfing, or sailing. Most of the beaches and local areas have a water sports centre, but for more information ask at the tourist information Office. The local beaches of Antibes and the Cap d’Antibes are perfect for snorkelling, scuba diving and swimming. It is also possible to hire a pedalo with a waterslide on the back at some beaches.

The winter months provide the mountains with a snowfall that attracts many tourists and snow sport activists to the area. Just an hour and a half away or less are slopes, perfect for beginners and those who just want to have an afternoon of fun with an adrenaline rush.
